JKSSB Class IV and MTS Recruitment 2026 Overview

The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has published Advertisement No. 09 of 2026 to recruit 2,863 Class-IV (Multi Tasking Staff) and Sanitation Worker personnel. The recruitment covers Union Territory, Divisional, and District cadres across all 20 districts of Jammu and Kashmir.

Recruited personnel receive salary under Pay Level SL-1, offering a pay scale of Rs. 14,800 to Rs. 47,100 per month along with standard central dearness allowance, medical reimbursement, and pension benefits.

The 2,863 vacancies are structured into four main cadre divisions:

• Union Territory (UT) Cadre: 105 Posts

• Divisional Cadre Jammu: 1,093 Posts

• Divisional Cadre Kashmir: 897 Posts

• District Cadres (Combined across 20 districts): 768 Posts

Category Reservation Summary

Vacancies are reserved as follows: Open Merit (OM): 1,178, Scheduled Castes (SC): 246, Scheduled Tribes 1 (ST-1): 293, Scheduled Tribes 2 (ST-2): 286, Other Backward Classes (OBC): 221, Resident of Backward Area (RBA): 286, Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 286, ALC/IB: 67.

Eligibility Criteria & Age Limits

Candidates must fulfill these conditions as of 01 January 2026:

• Educational Standards for Class-IV (MTS): Minimum Matriculation (10th pass) and maximum 10+2 (Higher Secondary) from a recognized board. Higher qualification holders are not eligible for Class IV posts under UT rules.

• Educational Standards for Sanitation Worker: Minimum 8th class pass and maximum 10+2 pass.

• Domicile Requirement: The candidate must be a domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.

• Age Limits: Maximum 40 years for Open Merit (born between 01.01.1986 and 01.01.2008), 43 years for SC, ST, RBA, EWS, and OBC, and 42 years for PwBD applicants.

Application Fee Breakdown

• SC, ST-1, ST-2, EWS, PwBD Applicants: Rs. 500

Selection Process Stages

Selection is determined by a merit formula combining written scores and statutory weightage:

1. Written Examination: Multiple choice objective test carrying 85 marks for UT Cadre, 80 marks for Divisional Cadre, and 75 marks for District Cadre.

2. Additional Weightage Points: 5 to 10 marks for home district/division domicile, 5 marks if no family member is in government service, 5 marks for widows or divorced women, and 5 marks for casual workers engaged for 5+ years.

3. Document Verification: Scrutiny of original domicile certificates, 10th marksheets, and category certificates.
