Kochi Metro Apprenticeship Overview

Kochi Metro Rail Limited, a joint venture of the Government of India and the Government of Kerala, is offering annual apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act 1961. The 70 positions span technical engineering, diploma streams, and ITI trade disciplines.

Trainees gain practical experience across rolling stock maintenance, signalling, telecommunications, and civil track engineering. The engagement lasts for one full year. Eligibility Criteria and Age Limit

Applicants must satisfy these qualifications as on 15 October 2026:

• Graduate Technical: Regular 4-year B.E. or B.Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, or Civil Engineering.

• Diploma Technician: 3-year Diploma in Engineering from a recognized State Board of Technical Education.

• Trade Apprentice: 10th standard pass with NCVT or SCVT National Trade Certificate in relevant trades.

• Age Limit: Minimum 18 years as on 15 October 2026.

• Age Relaxations: 5 years for SC/ST applicants, 3 years for OBC candidates, and 10 years for PwBD contenders.

Stipend and Application Fee

Apprentices receive monthly stipends without any application fee burden:

• Graduate Apprentice Monthly Stipend: Rs. 12,300 per month

• Diploma Apprentice Monthly Stipend: Rs. 10,500 per month

• ITI Trade Apprentice Monthly Stipend: Rs. 9,600 per month
