About ICMR NIRWoH and the TERIIP Project
ICMR-NIRWoH is a premier biomedical research institute of the Indian Council of Medical Research, located on Jehangir Merwanji Street, Parel, Mumbai. The institute conducts cutting-edge research in women's health, reproductive biology, and maternal health.
The current opening is sanctioned under the national project TERIIP (Task force on Establishment of Reference Intervals in Indian Population). This multi-centric study aims to establish clinical reference ranges across diverse Indian demographic groups. The post is purely temporary, with an initial appointment for 1 year, extendable by up to 10 additional months depending on project requirements and candidate performance.
Place of Posting and Key Responsibilities
The selected Data Entry Operator will not be based in Mumbai, but will be stationed at the ICMR Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) located at Dollygunj, Sri Vijaya Puram, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Candidates must be willing to live and work in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Key daily duties assigned to the candidate include:
1. Routine data entry, clinical record verification, and electronic database maintenance.
2. Coordination of clinical biological sample shipments from field sites to testing laboratories.
3. Dispatch and delivery of diagnostic reports to project participants in coordination with the study team.
4. Any administrative and laboratory documentation duties assigned by the Principal Investigator (PI).
Eligibility Criteria and Educational Qualifications
Essential Qualification: Intermediate or 12th Pass in Science stream from a recognized board, along with 2 years of proven experience in Electronic Data Processing (EDP) work.
Desirable Qualification: A Bachelor's degree (Graduation) in any discipline with practical computer operational knowledge, data entry speed, and MS Office skills.
Age Limit: The maximum age limit is 28 years as on the closing date of application. Standard category-wise age relaxations apply for SC, ST, OBC, and PwD candidates as per Government of India guidelines.
Remuneration and Tenure Terms
The position offers a fixed consolidated pay of Rs. 23,960/- per month. Because this post is on an outsourced contract basis, additional allowances such as House Rent Allowance (HRA), Dearness Allowance (DA), or transport allowances are not separately provided.
The engagement carries an initial tenure of 1 year. An extension of up to 10 months is granted subject to satisfactory performance and project sanction.
