Uttarakhand Public Service Commission has released the official notification for 54 Lower PCS posts including Nayab Tehsildar and Excise Inspector. Eligible graduates can submit online applications at psc.uk.gov.in by 26 November 2026.
Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) is the premier constitutional body entrusted with recruiting officers for administrative and executive cadres across the Himalayan state. Established under Article 315 of the Constitution of India, the commission conducts merit-based examinations to staff district collectorates, revenue subdivisions, excise circles, and supply offices across 13 districts ranging from Dehradun and Haridwar to remote border tehsils in Chamoli and Pithoragarh.
The Uttarakhand Combined State (Civil) Lower Subordinate Services Examination, commonly known as Lower PCS, selects Class-II executive officers who manage ground-level revenue administration and public distribution. As the state strengthens rural governance and digitizes land records through the Bhulekh portal, experienced supervisory officers are essential to oversee village revenue circles, resolve tenancy disputes, and enforce consumer price monitoring. UKPSC has therefore published recruitment advertisement A-1/E-2/DR/LSS/2026-27 to fill 54 vacancies across eight critical state departments.
Selected officers will undergo institutional training at the Uttarakhand Academy of Administration in Nainital before taking independent charge of revenue circles and regulatory inspectorates. These permanent state civil service positions offer excellent career progression, authority, executive quarters, and opportunities for promotion to Provincial Civil Service (PCS) executive ranks. Don't delay your registration because server traffic on the UKPSC portal increases sharply as the closing date approaches.
The 54 vacancies under Advertisement Number A-1/E-2/DR/LSS/2026-27 cover executive and regulatory posts in the state government:
1. Nayab Tehsildar: 13 vacancies in the Board of Revenue. Nayab Tehsildars exercise executive magisterial powers, preside over revenue courts, handle land mutation matters, manage disaster relief operations, and supervise patwaris and kanungos.

3. Supply Inspector: 2 vacancies in the Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Department. Inspectors verify fair price shops, oversee ration grain allotments under the NFSA scheme, and check market weights and measures.
4. Marketing Inspector: 20 vacancies under Food and Civil Supplies. Officers supervise government grain procurement centers during Kharif and Rabi seasons, manage mandi yards, and maintain buffer stocks.
5. Labour Enforcement Officer: 5 vacancies in the Labour Department. Officers enforce minimum wage regulations, inspect factories for occupational safety, mediate employer-worker disputes, and monitor child labour prohibitions.

7. Senior Cane Development Inspector and Cane Inspector: 8 combined vacancies in the Sugarcane and Sugar Industry Department. Officers assist sugarcane farmers in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts with seed varieties, harvest calendars, and mill supply bonding.
