This recruitment drive covers 32388 vacant teacher positions across Primary, Middle, Secondary, and Higher Secondary schools.

Vacancy Distribution by School Level

The 32388 vacancies span all four school teaching tiers:

• Primary Teachers (Class 1 to 5): 11394 Posts across General, Urdu, and Bangla subjects.

• Middle School Teachers (Class 6 to 8): 5964 Posts in Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Hindi, and English.

• Secondary Teachers (Class 9 to 10): 9020 Posts in core school subjects.

• Higher Secondary Teachers (Class 11 to 12): 6010 Posts across specialized Arts, Science, and Commerce streams.

Eligibility Criteria and Teacher Eligibility Tests

Applicants must satisfy these specific qualification standards:

• Primary Teachers: Senior Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed), plus CTET Paper-I or BTET Paper-I qualified.

• Middle School Teachers: Bachelor Degree with D.El.Ed or B.Ed, plus CTET Paper-II or BTET Paper-II qualified.

• Secondary & Higher Secondary Teachers: Master or Bachelor Degree in the relevant subject with B.Ed, plus STET Paper-I (Secondary) or STET Paper-II (Higher Secondary) qualified.

• Age Limit: 18 to 37 years for UR Male; 40 years for UR Female, BC, and EBC; 42 years for SC and ST candidates as on 1 August 2026.

Application Fee Breakdown

Fee payments must be completed online via the BPSC payment gateway:

• General, EWS, OBC, and Other State Applicants: Rs. 750

• SC, ST, Female Candidates of Bihar, and PwBD: Rs. 200

Selection Process Stages

Selection is determined purely on performance in the written test:

1. Written Examination (Objective MCQ): 150 questions of 2.5 hours duration. Part I (Language Qualifying, 30 marks), Part II (General Studies, 40 marks), and Part III (Subject Domain, 80 marks).

2. No Personal Interview: There is no interview round for School Teacher selection.

3. Document Verification: Direct verification of certificates and scorecards for qualified candidates.
